The KK 104 U is a premium quality capsule head for 3rd party* handheld transmitters. Its precision manufactured condenser capsule offers transparent Neumann sound, combined with the freedom of wireless operation and all the virtues of a rugged stage microphone: excellent pop protection, enormous SPL capability, suppression of handling noise, and high feedback resistance.




Studio Quality for Wireless Systems
The KK 104 U capsule head is based on Neumann's highly successful, award-winning KMS series of wired stage microphones. While most stage microphones use dynamic capsules, the KK 104 U is equipped with a true condenser capsule offering the superior clarity that has made Neumann studio microphones famous worldwide. At the same time, the KK 104 U possesses the ruggedness required for stage use, thus refuting the myth that condenser microphones must be "fragile". The KK 104 U can handle enormous sound pressure levels without clipping, and its frequency-independent cardioid pattern allows for high gain before feedback. The KK 104 U has much smoother frequency response than dynamic microphones and an airy top-end. Compared to dynamic microphones, the Neumann KK 104 U offers a much superior transient response, resulting in a more immediate and emotional vocal sound. In practical terms: effortless intelligibility, without the usual EQ boosts – which further improves feedback resistance.

The KK 104 U is optimized for close miking; a fixed low cut filter compensates for the proximity effect and ensures clear bass, even if the singer’s lips touch the microphone. The headgrille is made of hardened steel and features a highly effective internal pop screen which also keeps moisture away from the capsule, while controlling sibilance.

Applications
Neumann capsule heads in combination with Sennheiser wireless systems have already proven their outstanding sound quality and reliability on some of the largest stages of the world, including international TV events, such as the Eurovision Song Contest. With the premium sound KK 105 U, Neumann is finally available for users of 3rd party* wireless systems, too.

Compared to the KK 104 U (cardioid), the KK 105 U (supercardioid) offers superior isolation and better rejection of unwanted sound from nearby instruments, resulting in a very direct and intimate sound, even in crowded stages.

The KK 105 U is designed for vocals and speech on stage and in other feedback-prone environments. The KK 105 U is suitable for in-ear monitoring as well as conventional monitoring systems.
